Renaissance Roses Original on Canvas

This painting in an original created with texturing and oils on canvas. 50 x 50 cm. Inspired by a bunch of roses, I then came home and this was my result. The roses have been painted in a crisp white, to allow the viewer to focus on the details. I wanted  to capture the French look, of a time period way back. This piece of artwork has been produced using a technique in which layers are painstakingly applied, left to dry. and reapplied until depth is formed to give the image a sense of reality. The textures are the focal point which demonstrate character and age.
